As I had to remind a group of fellow Republicans, many of whom are big “R”, Big Government, and soft social “R’s”, it is not the Liberals that are your immediate enemy. Most of them I am sure had to stop and scratch their collective head and once again declare my political extremism and absurdity.
However, those of us that closely follow the more natural and evolutionary trends of politics understand exactly of whom I am speaking. Care to venture a guess as to who the real enemy is?
That’s right, the PROGRESSIVES. What is a Progressive? Well here are a few sure fire ways to spot the ever more abundant Progressive in it’s element.
A progressive is someone who believes rights that are not stated in the Constitution, but inferred or extrapolated, should be given more weight than rights plainly enumerated.
A progressive is someone who knows there is a fundamental constitutional right to gay marriage, for example, even though the Constitution says nothing directly about marriage, but that a law-abiding individual has no right to own a gun, even though the Constitution clearly states that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
A progressive believes that sexual liberty trumps religious liberty, even though the Constitution says nothing about sex, and guarantees explicitly the right to free exercise of religion.
The Constitution mysteriously confers an unlimited right to an abortion, but the core right to life mentioned in the due process clause is reserved for criminals facing the death penalty. Human beings living in their mother’s wombs need not apply.
One thing progressives won’t do is allow anything, and I mean ANYTHING, to stand in the way of their agenda.
It’s a philosophy, not a party.
Both Republicans and Democrats have a major infestation of this sickness. Here is a list of now NAKED and out in the open “Republicrats”, they showed their true color on the immigration bill in the Senate yesterday:
The vote was 67-27, seven more than the 60 needed, with 15 Republicans agreeing to advance legislation at the top of President Barack Obama’s second-term domestic agenda.
Here are the 15 Republican senators who voted in favor of invoking cloture on the amendment, according to the Weekly Standard:
•Marco Rubio (FL)
Folks, Progressives are the ones you need to go after right now. We agree with Liberals on more than you think. The difference between a Progressive, a Republican and a Liberal? The Republican and Liberals still believe in the Constitution and The Bill of Civil Rights. We can find time later to debate Abortion, Birth Control and Climate Change. Right now, we need to identify and remove the Progressives from power. Then we can get back to restoring this great Republic to it’s rightful place.
